Plasma Table Operator

Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent. 10 hours day (overtime after 8 hours), and rotational Saturday coverage.

Location: Acheson, Alberta

Minimum Starting Wage: $30.00/hr. After 3 months of employment, wage may increase to $32.00/hr. based on performance and experience.

We are currently seeking a motivated individual for the position of Plasma Table Operator in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Please note – our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo pre-employment testing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Operate a high definition 6’ x 12’ plasma table.
• Cut and package steel parts as per company/customer specs.
• Inspect and measure all material to verify conformance to company/customer specifications using instruments such as tape measures and calipers.
• Ensure that equipment is operating properly.
• Ensure all pre-shift inspections are completed.
• Perform daily, weekly, monthly and yearly maintenance on the machine.
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts and telehandlers.
• Work efficiently and safely to ensure deadlines are met.

Education and Skills Required:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience operating plasma/oxy-fuel torches.
• Previous experience in a steel fabrication shop considered an asset.
• Forklift and Overhead Crane experience an asset.
• Proficient in performing mathematical calculations with ability to read tape measure/caliper.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret shop drawings and other documents such as safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Self-Motivated and customer service driven.
